You might not realise it, but some passenger trains at off-peak times carry spare capacity every day, space that could be utilised more effectively to help alleviate our congestion and pollution problems.

By figuring out how to utilise this capacity efficiently and intelligently, the innovative team at InterCity RailFreight have already taken vehicles off Britain’s congested roads in cities such as Bristol and London and by doing so, they have successfully reduced the environmental impact of one of the worst polluting but most vital sectors jobs in the country: moving freight and parcels across the country.

If you’re interested in helping to shape transport strategy in the North by making more effective and efficient use of resources to deliver clean air, economic and social benefit then we’re pleased to invite you to a workshop we’re holding where the InterCity RailFreight team will be facilitating what promises to be a very healthy and productive debate.

The event is free to attend and will be held at Leeds Town Hall (Albert Room) on Wednesday 28th November between 10 am and 1 pm. Lunch will be included. Places are limited, so we would advise you to register your attendance now at
